Honest to Murgatroid, will this period never end?? Normally my period is 4-5 days at most. I’m on day 8 with no signs of stopping. I would like it to stop now. Le Sigh.
I started Follistim & Luveris on Wednesday. Have been nauseated ever since starting the Follistim. Apparently, I’m the only person on the planet that has this reaction to Follistim. Awesome. I finally got clarification on the Luveris dose – 150 IUs per day. Holy cow. This means a minimum of four injections per day before starting the Ganirelix (1 Follistim dose in the morning, 1 Follistim in the evening, 2 Luveris in the evening). Yesterday was five injections becaues I ran out of Follistim in my cartridge halfway through my dose in my evening dose. Whahoo.
So here’s the thing about doing morning and evening doses and having multiple injections in a single day… You know how you’re supposed to alternate sides for an injection site? Well, how exactly do you do that without still overlapping? I mean, when I was doing one belly injection a day, I just did a different side every day. Now it’s… less easy to figure out. Not a big deal, I just make sure to move around in different spots. My husband (a pharmacist) tells me there’s a limit to how much fluid the skin can absorb, so I assume the point is just not to overload one spot with a large amount of fluid at once.
In other news, I got laid off, so my benefits expire at midnight August 31st, so this cycle MUST be complete by August 31st. No, I’m not canceling it in light of the layoff. This is my last covered cycle, and I may as well just go for it. After all, what are the odds of it working anyway, right?
Ugg on the layoff. That sucks. I hope this cycle goes very well.
oh my goodness — too much on your plate right now! so many injections and getting laid off too… i’m so sorry. it’s crazy that your benefits just disappear on the 31st. i hope the lay off turns out to be some sort of blessing in disguise. i have hope for this cycle, miss. i’ll keep it all crossed!
oh shoot, karen! i’m sorry to hear about your job. ugh, that sucks!
I’m sorry about the layoff. I know there is never GOOD timing for these sorts of things, but REALLY it would have been “nice” for it to be a different time. Or not at all.
Thinking of you.
Oh dear…another load of crap all at once.
As for all those shots, I say divide your stomach into quarters and do 1 shot in each quarter per day. I like to have systems and a routine for stuff like that, it’s the OCD in me.
And the lay off, well that just sucks. I’m sorry. If I can be of any help with anything, just let me know
I am so sorry. What suckitude.
Oy! I’m sorry about the layoff. THat is majorly Sucky.
And all those injections! Just… wow.
I’m on my out of town and I hope for good news at this address when I return. I will be thinking of you.
Holy moley. So sorry to hear about the layout and the stress.
I’m so sorry that you have joined the ranks of the unemployed!
I will look for the silver lining. You will be able to enjoy this pregnancy (following this IVF cycle) without the stress of work!
Hugs to you!
Oh, Karen. I am so sorry to hear about your job. As if you need the stress right now. Hugs.
Oh cr@p. I’m sorry…that really…sucks. Too bad you didn’t live close to me…my husband could share the want ads with you. His last day due to lay off is August 31st as well.
Bummer.
Shots in the gut are something that I’ve decided I’ll never get used to. Tonight was shot #3 for this cycle. Two more…than the progesterone suppositories! Wheeee!!
Well, that sucks. I can sort of relate. My husband got fired 2 weeks ago from the job he has done 6 months out of the year for the last 19 years. (he does freelance tv production) No notice. Nothing he did wrong. Just office politics. We have almost no income this month and no idea what he is going to do next baseball season.
Hope you find something soon. In the mean time, at least you get to stay home with your kids. Hope this cycle works. You might as well go for it while you have coverage.
By “completed” does that include beta? I’m guessing no… that would be unreasonable of them, in any case.
On the bright side, your next job could include super insurance for more fertility treatment!
Ha. Yeah, so. Forgive my cynical humour.
Bea
I’m so sorry to hear about your job. Like you needed any additional stress in your life right now. I’m thinking of you and hoping that the next great opportunity (with fabulous IF benefits) is right around the corner.
Karen- I am sorry to hear about the lay off. That was stress that you did not need. I hope and pray that you are blessed beyond measure with this cycle!
JoAnn
seriously. laid off. will it never end for you???? i’m so sorry. hopefully unemployment in your state is faster than EDD is in mine; they take friggin’ forever to respond to emails and forget getting anyone on the phone. it’s insane. praying like crazy for you that this last chance is the only one you need. big time (((hugs))).
The layoff just sucks so hardcore. As is the never-ending period.
I’m so, so, sorry about the layoff, the period, the injections, the fact that our body can only absorb so much fluid in a day…
oh – and I divided my stomach into quarters, too (as was suggested above). Worked quite nicely.
So sorry to hear about the layoff, what a total shite time you’re having. Hoping the universe will balance things a bit by giving you great results from the cycle….
I am sorry about the layoff. That really sucks.
I am so sorry to hear about your layoff. Joining the ranks of the unemployed is not something people strive for. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers during this time.
So sorry to hear about your layoff. I’ll be praying that the right opportunity presents itself to you quickly. Good luck with the cycle, hopefully it will be a huge success, then you can have the added fun of finding a new job while pregnant 🙂 Trust me, it’s super fun to walk into an interview and have them stare at your belly… “yes, that’s right…I’d be a great addition to your team…after my maternity leave…lol”
