People keep telling me that I look shell shocked. Tired. Sick. Run down.
Maybe I should take the hint.
Thing is, I can’t seem to shake it, either. I have even skipped my 11pm pumping the past couple nights in order to get more sleep (bad mommy, I know) because I just can’t take it anymore. I’m so tired. So unbelievably tired. It just can’t be normal, can it? I just had my thyroid checked and it was normal, so that’s not the problem; I just wish I could shake it.
In other news, my BABY started kindergarten today. Can you believe it? He had a bit of a rough start when I took him down for early drop off. He was clingy and scared and didn’t want me to leave, so I told him I would stay until it was time to move to his regular classroom. When it was time to move to his regular classroom, I took him down and I started to well up, but he just bounced right in. WHAT? Really? Hello? Now I’m having a moment, can’t you be a little traumatized with me? Just a little? *sniff*
Meanwhile, the kids are sick, sort of. Ellie had a stomach bug, but she’s over it. Then Sam seemed to get it, but not nearly as bad as Ellie. Now Abby seemed fine, but I think she might be coming down with it. Why couldn’t they get it concurrently instead of consecutively? J has a "reactive airway" which is essentially asthma, but with a triggering event, in this case probably a viral infection that we didn’t notice. Poor kid. Now he’s got two different inhalers and thankfully is being a real trooper about taking them.
But I’m tired. So very tired, with no real excuse for it, because, you know? My kids sleep through the night. But it could be the persistent migraines that won’t quit the past couple of weeks. Or it could be the nighttime pumping and the early morning wake ups. Or it could be that I’m just doing too much and not making up for it enough in the sleeping hours. I’m not sure.
I just know that I’m tired.
i hope you start feeling better soon…i am right there with ya though. just absolutely exhausted.
Ugh! If it’s any consolation, you’re not alone. Hope you’re feeling better soon!
Could be you are coming down with what the wee ones had?
I’m tired and I’ve only got one child 🙂
I don’t do *half* as much as you do, and I’m totally exhausted. Didn’t having triplets teach you to cut yourself some slack? 😉
I know, pot, kettle, all that. Take care of yourself! J will settle into school and you’ll be done pumping really soon. The light is at the end of the tunnel!
I am not the least bit surprised you are exhausted. I hope you can catch up on some rest soon.
i can totally understand how you could be tired! glad that school went well!
It just could be that you simply have too much on the plate right now. Being the working mom of trips and another must be exhausting – I am exhausted with twins and the same recipe. So skip that 11 pumping, sleep a bit. Good mommy, not bad mommy.
Would it be possible for your husband to be the parent on duty while you take a break? Monday is Labor Day; you could leave Sunday afternoon and go to a hotel or the house of friends away for the weekend and have a relaxing afternoon and evening, do something restful but fun and have a nice supper, go to sleep early and sleep late into Monday, and enjoy a good brunch before heading home. If you are going to take care of others, you and your husband need to take care of you.

I don’t know what to say about the tiredness, cuz similar to your other post re the triplet party, I think you’re amazing and I don’t know how you do it. BUT… I’ve got some tips on managing migraines if you get auras before they hit you. I used to get a LOT of migraines but they’ve been pretty manageable lately with some dirty tricks;-)
sometimes even supermoms (you) get rundown…not sure how you’ve managed to do it all and have always been impressed and humbled by your energy. I don’t do 1/2 the stuff you do and am still tired all the time.
I’m going to go with option C: “just doing too much and not making up for it enough in the sleeping hours”.
Also could be that you are fighting off whatever bug they’ve got.
try to get some rest!
Parenting is hard and tiring whether you have 10 kids or just one. I have one (toddler) and finishing up a degree in college right now and feel exhausted at 9pm everynight. Hope you feel better.
Tag, you’re it!! (see my blog)
Sorry you’re so tired!! (((hugs)))
Are you seriously telling me there is no reason for your tiredness? Especially after you just named several? I imagine they’re probably all part of it, by the way.
After all those gallons of milk, I daresay a couple of evening sessions with the pump isn’t going to upset much, and it sounds like you need the sleep more. If you’re really worried, the blood tests for thyroid/also iron levels/no doubt others are a good idea, if only to rule things out so you know for sure there’s no solution but more sleep. It had to catch you up sooner or later, surely? Any chance some hormones could be involved in there?
